"The Chosen... Few?"

Last night was a little over-the-top, but that seems to be Idol's angle this year. And what would Idol's most DRAMATIC season be without a disqualified contestant? Who is it you ask? We'll get to that in a few minutes (but here's a big ole clue: lyrics seemed to be her Achilles heel)

I'm going to start with the 1st Group and do the other 24 tomorrow!
Let's get to it... shall we?

Alexis Grace: She's one who gets lost in the shuffle for me. I'm just not sure if her voice is strong enough to stand out in the sea of "deep, raspy" toned girls. I think her group might allows her to shine over some of the other girls... so she might have a shot at the Top 12. *side note* Alexis needs a complete image makeover! She look horrible last night!

Anne Marie Boskovich: Anne Marie got the breeze-over treatment during the Top 36 show. She's got a voice in there somewhere... I saw a glimpse of it during her audition, and I think with this group and picking a really great songs might help her squeak her way into the Top 12.

Casey Carlson: She's nothing more than a pretty face... and given the choice between her and the other girls in her group I think America would pick just about any one of them over her. Her Top 12 chance are... zero!

Jackie Tohn: Jackie seems to be the more annoying version of Taylor Hicks (I know... I totally didn't think that was possible) She sings with the false-gravelly tone that grates on my last nerve. I will say the clip of her with the guitar singing "I Hope You Dance" was less annoying... maybe sticking her with an instrument will help? I think she might actually have a chance at the Top 12 based on this group and the fact that she not so cookie-cutter.

Stevie Wright: Stevie reminds me of Alaina Whitaker from last year... great voice, commerical face, but something get's lost in the translation on stage! She lost a little bit of her "interest" for me. The little bit we saw of her in Hollywood didn't really show her off very well. She's really going to have to bring it to make the the Top 12... even if this group is pretty wide open (on the girls end) Tatiana del Toro: She is the one person that doesn't have a shot in well... ya know... of making it to the Top 12. I have not found a single person (expect the website Vote for the Worst) that can remotely stand the girl. So these girls should be glad their only fighting 4 other girls instead of 5 for the spot.

So which girl will make it through? I think Jackie or Anne Marie have the greatest chance with Alexis as a close third. I could definitely see the two that don't make it coming back for the Wild Card Round.

Anoop Desai: This is my guy (my audition pick)!! The dude has talent in spades, he's a totally new genre (the R&B Male) for Idol and he's likable... instant superstar! Plus he was in an accapella band and wrote his thesis on BBQ... he's just all kinds of awesome! He's got a pretty good following and could really see him going the distance... or at least Top 5!

Brent Keith: After his initial audition I thought this guy was a shoe-in for the Top 12, but after barely a peep from him in Hollywood I'm starting to think maybe he's been over-shadowed by Michael Sarver as the country heart-throb I think with this group there is not a chance of initally making the Top 12... maybe the Wild Card show?

Danny Gokey: Danny's a shoe-in for the Top 12. I think his sing talent warrants it, but his personality won't be earning my vote. He's got the R&B vibe Idol seems to be looking for this year and I think he's got a chance to go pretty far if he keeps his ego & "confidence" in check.

Michael Sarver: In any other group Michael would stand an excellent chance of initially making the Top 12. He got a great tone, a great look and a great story, but I think Danny & Anoop have the fan base already... with all that said, I think Michael is a prime canidate for a Wild Card pick.

Ricky Braddy: Not a lot to say about this kid... we haven't heard him sing yet on the show. I've listened to some of his pre-idol stuff and he's got a stellar studio voice. Paula named his as a favorite in a recent article... what does that mean exactly? He'll be in the Wild Card show and probably a choice for the Top 12 OR Paula's crazy, he's horrible and we'll never hear from him again... who really knows with her.

Stephen Fowler: While I really like Stephen's voice he definitely pulled the short straw in this group. I just don't see him advancing past any of the other guys in this group! If Junot doesn't make it through in his group I could see them both back for the Wild Card show.

So which guys do I think will make it through? Danny or Anoop with get the highest votes... I'm like 99% sure on that one and the the other will take the "3rd" spot!

My choices to make it through from this group: Anoop, Anne Marie & Danny
